Omo Walker Obituary

Omo Shea “Whistle” Walker departed this life on March 14, 2018. Born in Springfield, MA, he was a son of Dorcas (Hardimon) Walker and Elijah Walker. Omo graduated from the High School of Commerce. He was talented musician and attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA and WNEU in Springfield. Omo was a retired Lt. at CCIE. He was known for his sense of humor, his love of cooking, and for being willing to help others. Pre-deceased by his parents, his step-son, Charles Brown, a brother, Abdul Rahim Abdul Rashid, a sister, Sirdeaner Walker, and a nephew, Carl J. Walker Hoover, he is survived by his daughter, MiCola Brown; a granddaughter, Ty’Arri McElya; three sisters, LaLetta Slater, Barbara Walker, and Tonda Walker; a brother, Rock Walker; an aunt, Naomi Hardimon; and two uncles, Thorvard Hardimon and Nathaniel Hardimon. The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Overflowing Love Church Of The Living God, 22 King St., Springfield, followed by funeral services at 11.
