Allen "Skip" Dyer Jr., 76, of 84 Silver Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, February 28, 1942 in Oak Ridge, Louisiana to the late Allen Dyer Sr. and Mattie (Williams) Dyer. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church Of God In Christ. Allen moved to Springfield as a child, when his father decided to relocate his family from Louisiana to Massachusetts, in hopes of providing a better quality of life for them. Allen worked at Chapman Valve as a machinist and then for Baystate West maintenance department. He retired from both of these positions. Allen was known to family and friends as "Skip." He was very easy going, funny and committed to his family. To him if he loved you, you became a part of the Dyer family. Everyone who met him, loved him and everyone he met, he loved. He is survived by his loving wife Willie Mae (Robinson) Dyer of fifty-three years. His three children Michelle (Gary) Dyer-Gee, Dana (Roy) Hines and Allen Dyer III (Tanisha Reid.) His grandchildren Talia Gee, Christopher Davis Sr., Allen Dyer IV, Cianna Glaze, Derek Dyer Sr., Alisha Glaze, Jaylon Sims and Asanti Dyer. His special children: Page Monroe, Richard (Katara) Robinson, Derrick Vaughn and Kimberly Vaughn; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers Leon Dyer and Albert Dyer; cousins/brothers, Bishop Robert Webb Sr. and Douglas Dyer Sr., Sister-in-law Sara Dyer and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents Allen and Mattie Dyer, his siblings Sadie Dyer, Gladys Brown, Ivery Dyer, Joseph Dyer, Rosalie Catwell, Mattie Dyer, Lula Mills, sister-in-law Joyce Vaughn and his nephew Albert Vaughn.
