Anna Louise Byers

Anna Louise (Lou) Byers (87) departed this life on March 13th. She was born in Crowley, Louisiana, on June 8th 1930. Louise is predeceased by her husband of 45 years Curby Byers, her parents Oliver and Beatrice Milson, her birth parents Neal and Anna Scott her sisters Delores Scott and Rosemary Hall Willams and a brother Lionell Lyons Sr. Louise is survived by her daughter, Lisa A Byers-Clark, son, Darrell C Byers and his wife Maggie Mode-Byers, grandchildren, Justin C Clark, Gerald S Clark III, Alyssya L Clark and Sam Byers, 8 Great-grandchildren and three God-children Michelle Byers, Warren C Scott Jr, Felicia Byers-Warner and a host of relatives and many friends. Louise believed strongly in education and attended Springfield Community College and American International College graduating from the latter at the age of 60. She believed in helping by tutoring, giving people a place to sleep, paying their rent or heating bills. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Springfield, MA, or the United Negro College Fund. The calling hour is 11:00 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 22nd with funeral services following at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 17 John Street, Springfield, MA.
