Aretha Hallums Obituary

Aretha Hallums, 50, of Sumner Ave., departed this life on Tuesday October 8, 2019.  Born in McKeesport, PA she was a daughter of Joe Watkins and Vera Hallums.  A 40-year Springfield resident, Aretha was a member of Mission Church.  She enjoyed cooking and being with her family, especially the grandchildren.  Aretha is survived by three children, Alexander Hallums, Larry Green Jr., and Natoya Hallums;  two brothers, Otis Porter Jr. and Hamid Hallums;  two sisters, Lisa Hallums-Gaynor and Oletha Wells;  her step-father who raised her, Otis Porter Sr.;  eight grandchildren, Alexis, Ayana, Amayah, Desiah, Princess, Nalaysia, Decovan, and Zariah;  a brother-in-law, Otis Gaynor;  a sister-in-law, Judith Coleman;  and several cousins, nieces, and nephews .  The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
