Curtis V Oakley

Curtis Vernell Oakley, 78, of Stapleton Road, departed this life on Sunday September 16, 2018.   Born in Bear Poplar, NC, he was a son of J. K. Oakley and Mary (Graham) Oakley.  A Springfield resident for most of his life, he served in the U.S. Air Force, was a graduate of Western New England Univ., and had been employed as a Purchasing Agent by Pratt & Whitney, UT.  He was active in the Blunt Park Tennis Club and WNEU Alumni Association.  Pre-deceased by his parents, and his wife, Gloria Jean (Booker) Oakley, he is survived by two children, Deborah S. Oakley and David Monroe;  two brothers, William Oakley and Mathew Oakley;  a son-in-law, Donald Mitchell;  and three grandchildren, Nia Marie Mitchell, Kyla Renee Mitchell, and Alicia Gloria Mitchell.
