Danny K Johnson

Danny Kay Johnson went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital. Born on October 18,1953 in Orangeberg, South Carolina, he was a long-time resident of Springfield, MA where he attended public schools. Danny loved fishing, was a great boxer, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his father Arthur Johnson Sr., two brothers (Arthur Jr and Melvin) and two sisters (Marie and Mary). He is survived by his Mother Minnie Gill and step-father Joseph Gill, sisters Joanne (Olan), Minnie and Denise (Mark), three sons Danny Jr (Miriam), Keith and Michael, daughters Theresa (Ronald), Jalanda, Danielle (Da’Juan), Kenya, Leona, Chaka, Sabrina, Johnea and Lesley along with 16 grandkids, 7 great-grands and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones to mourn his passing. All services will be held at Third Baptist Church, 149 Walnut Street, Springfield MA 01109 October 1st, 2019. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00am, Celebration of Life: 11:00-1:00pm with burial immediately following at Oak Grove Cemetery.
