James D Yates

James Daniel Yates, 66, of North Main St., Williamsburg, MA, passed away on March 31, 2019, at Baystate Medical Center.  Born and educated in Springfield, MA, he was a son of Ernest Yates and Audrey (Walker) Yates.  James was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps as well as a retired firefighter.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara Diane Yates;  six sons, Antonio Brown, Tremaine Langhorne, Cortnei Langhorne, James Yates I, James Yates II, and Terrence Yates;  two daughters, Dionesia Yates and Selena Yates-Moore;  two brothers, Walter Kennedy and Julius Yates;  four sisters, Ernestine Rodgers, Martha Richardson, Kathy Gardner, and Carlene Yates;  24 grandchildren;  and several  nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.  The calling hour is 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Mother Elouise Franklin Prayer Temple, 629 South Summer St., Holyoke, MA, followed by the funeral at noon.
