Jimmie Johnson Jr.

Jimmie Johnson Jr., 45, of Myrtle St., passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Springfield, he worked at HP Hood & Sons and was a member of Emmanuel Church Outreach Ministry.  His hobbies were football, basketball, fishing, and other sports.  Pre-deceased by his mother, Dorothy Jean (Wilbert) Johnson, and a son Jimmie Johnson III.  He is survived by his father, Jimmie Johnson Sr.; and by two sons, Jared R. Johnson of Springfield, MA and Raequan Johnson of Greenfield MA; three sisters, Cynthia Johnson Lovejoy, Jacqueline Johnson-Davis (and Kenneth), and Melissa Johnson Bass (and David), all of Springfield; a grandson, Jayce Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.  The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Church of God and Christ, 209 Quincy St.
