Lloyd C Austin

Lloyd Calvin Austin, 57, of Hickory St., departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018.  Born in Chicopee, MA, he was a son of Lloyd Alvin Austin and Carol Marie (Copeland) Austin.  Lloyd was a longtime Springfield resident and a chair van driver for AMR.  A member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, he was Past President of the Men’s Usher Board, as well as a member of the Missionary Board.  He enjoyed watching football and basketball.  Pre-deceased by his father and a sister Evangeline, Lloyd is survived by his wife, Sandra Austin;  his mother, Carol Marie (Copeland) Austin;  a step-daughter, Tasha Scott of Springfield;  two brothers, James Copeland of Edenton, MA and Ricky Copeland of Boston, MA;  his baby sister, Teresa Austin-Newkirk of Springfield;  a granddaughter, Kani Anthony Christopher Reed;  and a wonderful nephew, Maurice Austin as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives to cherish his memory.  The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 17 John St., followed by the funeral at 11 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
