Marvis Steele

Marvis Elaine (Cooper) Steele, 63, of Roosevelt Avenue, departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Springfield,  Marvis was a daughter of Alfred Lee Cooper and Annie Adel (Brodie) Cooper;  beloved wife of Charles Steele;  sister of Gwendolyn Smith;  cousin of Rachea Jackson-DeLoach, Rashita Deloach, Steven Childs, Alex Childs, and Gabriel Childs;  aunt to Christian Smith, Sheldon Smith, Matthew Steele, Timothy Steele, and Patrick Bolston;   sister-in-law of Chris Smith Sr., Cheryl Smith, Michael J. Smith, Carl (and Wanda) Steele, and Norman P. Bolston.  Marvis leaves a host of other relatives in North Carolina and Georgia.  She worked as a credit consultant for Credit Data Systems for many years and was the owner of Floral Fantasies.  She was a former member of Third Baptist Church.  The calling hour is Wednesday 10-11 a.m. at  Canaan Baptist Church of Christ, 1430 Carew Street,  followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery
