Michael A Bruce

Michael Anthony Bruce Sr., 73, of River St., Mattapan MA, departed this life on September 8, 2018, at Boston Medical Center.  Born in Springfield, MA, he was a son of Otis Patrick Bruce and Dorothy Lillian (Griffin) Bruce.  Mr. Bruce had worked as a machinist at Titeflex and was a former Golden Gloves Boxing champion and later a professional heavyweight fighter.  He was also active in community work with the Tenants Council of Boston, and the Indian Orchard Neighborhood Council.  He leaves his wife, Annette C. Bruce of Springfield;  a son, Michael Bruce Jr. of Springfield;  two daughters, Marla Bruce of Springfield and Helen DuPlessis of MD;  three brothers, George Bruce and Stanley Naylor, both of Springfield, and Ralph DeMasi of Boston;  two sisters, Sandra Bruce-White and Neise Naylor, both of Springfield;  a sister/niece, Dolores Bruce-Johnson;  11 grandchildren;  6 great-grandchildren;  and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
