Ruby Lee Bennett was born on March 29, 1933 in Steelton, Pennsylvania to the late Oscar and Leila Daniels. She was one of six children. She attended Steelton High School and was known to take care of her siblings. In 1982, Ruby moved from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Springfield, Massachusetts to work as a Registered Nurses’ Assistant at Springfield Municipal Hospital. She worked at the hospital until 2005 when she retired. Ruby was affectionately known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren and all of the people who loved her. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Nanny was very supportive of her family. She celebrated every milestone and through her actions, showed that she loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a member of one of the Springfield College Square Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Betty M. Haith and her grandson, Donnell L. Haith. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Barry Daniels and Bonita Daniels of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Sarah Warford of West Hartford, Connecticut, Nancy Whitmore of Brooklyn, New York and a granddog Tiny. She leaves to cherish precious memories of her, her youngest daughter Manina A. Daniels of Springfield, Massachusetts, two granddaughters: Geegee R. Haith and Tamika R. Daniels, both of Baltimore, Maryland and an older sister, Emma J. McMcNeil of Hartford, Connecticut, a loving caregiver and personal nurse Colleen “Pinky” Daniels, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
