Tanya M McClain

Tanya Marie McClain, 45, of Washburn Street, Springfield departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Holyoke, MA, she was a lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts and worked as a chef for Snap Chef. A multi-talented individual, Tanya previously worked for the Holyoke Soldiers Home, the Post Office,the Brimfield Fair, the Mass Mutual Center and as a CNA.  As an artisan, she made her own hair products and her own butter.  Her hobby was gardening.  Tanya is survived by her mother Toni Kelley, her beloved husband Carlos Derby, three children Naszir McClain, Anazia Miller-McClain, and Jahnaz Coly-McClain all of Springfield; two uncles Terry Kelly  and Gene Kelly and an aunt Sarah Pinto, her maternal grandfather, Grand-Dad Kelly, other extended family and many friends to cherish her memory.  There will be a celebration of Tanya's life on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home.
