Willie J. Whetstone

Willie J. Whetstone, 81, of Biddle St., Springfield, MA, departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow. Born in Autaugaville, AL, Willie was a son of Clair (Clemmons) Whetstone and Thomas. He had worked at Sweet Life Foods, where was active with the softball team, bowling league, and Teamster’s Union. He was a member of Shiloh Community Pentecostal Church, serving as an Usher, Counter, and general custodial. Besides his beloved wife, Eddie (Crapps) Whetstone, he leaves three children, Kevin Whetstone of Boston, MA, Keith Whetstone of Easthampton, MA, and Silesia Jamison of Pittsfield, MA; eight step-children; one brother, James Whetstone of Akron, OH; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. Willie was pre-deceased by two brothers, Thomas Whetstone and Walter Golson, and a sister, Dorothy Mae Whetstone. The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Community Pentecostal Church, 91 Jasper St., followed by the funeral at 11 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
