Bishop Jerry Carr Jr., 86 of 24 Kerry Drive, was called away from his earthly home on Saturday, April 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Bishop Carr was born in Bancroft, GA to Jerry Carr Sr. and Alberta (James) Carr. Raised in Albany, GA, he moved to Hartford, CT, where he graduated from Weaver High School, Hartford Seminary, and Liberty University. He lived in the Springfield area for 44 years, preaching The Word Of God. He is survived by his beloved wife and help meet of 51 years, Ladell (Clemons) Carr; his children, Pastor Jerry Carr III (and Tiffany), Christopher Carr (and Tanisha), LaVerne Adekunle, Latina Pinkney, Tamara Carr, and Ashley Carr; his brothers, Dizzie Carr, Hal Carr (and Yvette), James Carr, and Jimmy Carr; his sisters, Pastors Ida Mae Austin (and Calvin), Ella Mae Jones, Doretha Dandy, Beatrice Bullock (and Walter), Martha Lee Whitehead, and Queen Carr; his beloved aunt, Willie Mae James; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church 797 State Street, followed by a celebration of life at 11.
