Jerome Wilder, 65, of Sycamore St., passed from this life on Monday, September 23, 2019, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Quincy, FL, on June 13, 1954, he was the last of 10 children born to Marie (Britt) Wilder and James Coleman Wilder. Jerome had worked as a Sr. Forensic Tech for the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner. Always interested in the medical/forensic field, he began his career at Broward General Hospital in Pompano Beach, FL, and worked at several funeral homes including Betsy Funeral Home in Quincy, FL, House of Wheat in Dayton, OH, and Henderson Funeral Home and Harrell Funeral Home, both in Springfield. He is survived by a son, Loren Miguel Wilder (and Sharmaine) of Melbourne, FL; two daughters, Jemelia Wilder and Valeria Wilder; two brothers, Odell (and Essie) Wilder and Dupree (and Novella) Wilder; a sister, Lillie Menton-Hill (and Ranzy); and many friends to cherish his memory. He was pre-deceased by six siblings, Levi Wilder, Margaret Jackson, Virginia Holley, Pinkie Morris, Patricia Hughes, and Drucilla Brady. The calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon, Friday at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. followed by funeral services at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Way of Pioneer Valley.
