Adlee Polk, 73, of Hall Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Springfield and a lifelong resident of the city, Adlee was a son of the late Franklin Pierce Polk Jr. and the late Dorothea (Wimbish) Polk. Adlee graduated from Springfield schools, was a Vietnam Era United States Army Veteran, and later worked at the United States Postal Service for many years following his deployment. Adlee enjoyed watching western films, challenging his mind by completing crossword puzzles, watching the New England Patriots and grilling delicious meals outdoors.
Pre-deceased by four brothers, Franklin P. Polk III, Lawrence Polk Sr. (and wife, Amoglow), Robert B. K. Polk, and Eddie L. Polk Sr., he is survived by a son, Isaiah L. Polk; a daughter, Dorothea Polk; three brothers, Antonio Polk, Alfred Polk, and Raymond Jarow Polk; two sisters, Faith Marie Richardson and Dorothea Marie (and husband, Victor) Walker; three grandchildren, Emmanuel Wilson, Matteo Polk, and Samuel Polk; an aunt, Mamie Duncan; an uncle, Calvin Wimbish; a niece, Ruby Polk; a nephew, Michael Polk; long-time friend, Shelley Polk; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives to mourn his passing.
Family and friends will leave Harrell Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 23rd for a graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family welcomes attendance at the repass taking place at Emma's Place in Springfield beginning at 2 pm.
