Albert Vaughn

Albert Leon “Ookie” Vaughn, departed this life on Friday, August 24, 2018.  A lifelong Springfield, MA resident, Albert was the youngest child of Albert Nixon and the late Joyce Marie Vaughn.  He attended Putnam Vocational High School and was known for being a hard worker who spent many holidays with his work family making delicious food for those near and far.  He proudly cherished his loving daughter and all of her accomplishments.   When Albert wasn’t working, he could be found on his boat, fishing and loving the quietness of nature.  Pre-deceased by his lovely mother, Joyce Marie Vaughn, he leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Joyce Vaughn;  his father, Albert Nixon;  six siblings, Page Robinson Monroe, Richard (and Katara) Robinson, Kimberly Vaughn, Alrita Nixon, and Angela Peterson, all of Springfield, and Derek Vaughn of Atlanta, GA;  his mother/aunt, Willie-Mae (Allen) Dyer;  and a host of other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mission Church.
