Allhdene Williams

Allhdene Williams, 71, a life-long resident of Springfield, MA passed away January 15, 2021.  

Allhdene was born at Springfield Hospital on December 18, 1949 to Julius and Christine Williams.  She attended Putnam Vocational High School and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Telecommunications from Springfield Technical Community College.  After briefly working for WWLP, Channel 22 in Springfield, Allhdene worked for various nonprofit organization’s most notably, the Runaway Adolescent Program and the Springfield YWCA.

In following her passion to help at-risk youth and teens, Allhdene assisted many over her 30 years of being a foster parent and served on the Board of Directors for the Department of Social Services, in Springfield, MA.  Allhdene’s talents were many, she was known as an actress, interior designer, and member of SASSI-Prep Dance Community under the direction of the late Danny Scarborough. Allhdene was known for her love of musicals, classic movies, and the tv show Perry Mason.

Allhdene was a spiritual woman as a member of The Lighthouse and most recently, Springfield Grace Community Baptist Church under Rev. Stephen G. Williams. Allhdene had a generously big heart and loved her family, friends, grandchildren, and her beloved dog Basil. 

Allhdene was preceded in death by her husband, Israel Lopez, her parents, and sister Deborah, and brother Julius Williams, Jr.  She is survived by her daughter, Telleha Howard (Leslie); son Israel Lopez (Ilana); and daughter Tamieka Williams.  She also leaves siblings Fernada Dennis, Zora Ortiz, Roger Williams, Deli Williams, and Paul Bradley all of Springfield, MA.; Alpina Williams of Boston, MA, and Senella Dennis of San Diego, CA; and David Bradley of Miami, FL.  She leaves behind grandchildren, Rajshree Lopez, Terell Lopez, Anthony DiSessa, Natasha Perez, Myles Howard, Aliceya Lopez, and Emily Deyette. Also cherishing her memory are a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews in Boston, MA, San Diego, CA, Seattle, WA, and Springfield, MA.
