Barbara A. Brown

  Barbara Ann Brown, of Springfield, MA, affectionately known as “Big Sis” departed this life on August 9, 2026, at the age of 68 years old.  She attended Buckingham High School.

  Born on May 24, 1958, in Sumter, SC, Barbara was a daughter of Ms. Willie Bell Brown.  She leaves behind her sisters, Sandra Agboola (and her husband Mufu) of Methuen, MA, Tammy Brown, Kiesha Brown, Tonya Brown, and Aiesha Brown and her brother, James McCants Brown, all of Springfield.  She leaves her only precious son, Anthony Moses Brown of Springfield;   her grandchildren, Milan, Anthony, Nyasia, Christian, Kamari, and Elizabeth;  and a great granddaughter, Aria.

  Barbara enjoyed drawing, fishing, roller skating, and swimming.  She also enjoyed lying on her blanket in the park, listening to her music. Barbara leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.   She was predeceased by her mother, Ms. Willie Bell Brown, her sister, Patricia Brown (Precious), and her brother, Donald Brown.  She is missed by a host of family, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Rest in peace, Big Sis.  We love you! 

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
