Barbara J. (Marshall) Brown, 60, of Chestnut Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on July 12, 2021. Born in Quincy, Florida, she was a daughter of Ezella (Rivers) Husband and the late Howard Marshall Sr. Barbara was a 51-year resident of Springfield, where she had been an Administrative Assistant at “The Bottom Line” newspaper and an assembler at LEGO. Also, she was a poll worker in Springfield, attended Christ Church Cathedral, and enjoyed dancing, singing, and rapping.
Predeceased by her brothers Thomas Marshall, of California and Ricky Marshall, of Springfield, she is survived by her mother, Ezella (Rivers) Husband of Quincy, Florida; two sons, Terrance brown Jr. and Ricky Brown, both of Springfield; three daughters, Lucretia Marshall of Atlanta, Georgia, Maurissa Marshall-Harris (and James) of Springfield, and Tonoa Brown of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Howard Marshall Jr. of Quincy; a cousin, whom she raised, Willie Rivers of Quincy; her best friend, Christina Covington of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Michael Hall Jr. and Elijah Davis, both of Atlanta, E’mari Marshall-Woodard, Nylah Brown, Za’Nyah Brown, A’layna Brown, and Faith Brown, all of Springfield, and Mahogany Wyche, Maylena White, Maya White, and Maurissa White, all of Washington, D.C.; and a host of other relatives.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 26 at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
