Betty J. Temple

 Betty Jean Temple, 80, departed this life on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

  Born in Meridian, Mississippi, she had been a 60-year resident of Springfield.  Betty had been employed by Baystate Medical Center and enjoyed puzzles and bingo.  Pre-deceased by her mother, Ida Mae (Temple) Smith and a sister, Shevie Jarvis, she is survived by three brothers, Ralph Smith of Springfield, Anthony Smith of Wetumpa, AL, and Nathan Smith of Meridian;  a foster son, Cody Vaughn of Springfield;  several nieces and nephews, including Chrishara S. Jarvis of Enfield, CT, Priscilla A. Jarvis of Ludlow, MA, Josef Miller-Smith, Shakeara Miller-Smith, and Shatara Miller-Smith, all of Springfield, and Morgan Austin-Smith of Chicopee, MA;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

  Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, at Harrell Funeral Home.  Face masks are required.
