Carmen Diaz Obituary

  Carmen Mercedes (Pagan) Diaz, 54, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. 

  Born in The Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of Jose Antonio Pagan and Carmen Alvarez.  Mrs. Diaz was employed as a day care teacher for New Creation Academy and previously for Kindercare.  She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Cathedral, where she was a Eucharist Minister and a member of John 23rd.  Carmen was a member of the Real Family Jeep Club and enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to Christian music, playing Nintendo, and watching Disney movies.

  She is survived by her husband, Luis Orlando Diaz Serrano Sr., two daughters, Caridad Diaz and Cassandra Diaz;  three step-children, Luis Diaz Serrano Jr., Melagro Diaz, and Jessica Vanessa Diaz;  a brother;  four sisters;  four grandchildren;  an adopted son, Ladiaslo Rivera;  her closest friends, Yvette Colon and Sonia Aponte;  two dogs, Oscar and Spikey;  a chinchilla, Baby;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 40 Waverly Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.
