Carolyn Rodriguez

  Carolyn Idel (Canty) Rodriguez, 71, of Oxford Place, West Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by loving family and friends. 

  Born in Brooklyn, New York, Carolyn was a beloved daughter of Ida Jones (Johnson) Canty and Thomas Lee Canty.  She was a Springfield resident for the past fifty years and successfully raised two daughters.  She enjoyed working as a Family Program Coordinator for the New North Citizens Council.  In her free time she enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing games, and spending time with her family.

  She leaves two daughters, Valencia Cushing, and Amber Kinzie;  three brothers, Clayton Johnson, Thomas Canty Jr., and Prince D. Canty;  a sister, Rosalyn Ali;  her four beloved grandchildren, Aiadiz,  Akazian,  Azario, and Ivory Belle;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home.
