Christian Terresita Donaldson was born on November 11, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, to Brenda May and Christopher Donaldson. From birth Christian was a ray of sunshine to all she encountered. Christian’s radiant spirit continued to light up the lives of everyone she met, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
Christian was educated in Springfield, Mass, Philadelphia, PA, and the DMV area. She later pursued her passion for the culinary arts, earning a degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, Illinois. From birth her name was put on roll at the United House of Prayer for All People. Christian loved working in the House of Prayer, working in the kitchen serving people where she was affectionately called “Candy”. Christian also started a smoothie stand in North Philadelphia House of Prayer, which became popular because of the combination of flavors she would put together and serve with her classic personality.
Christian was a devoted member of the United House of Prayer for All People. Christian was deeply rooted in her faith. Many talked of seeing her in the convocation’s services in New Haven, Connecticut, enjoying the services and of course dressed sharp. Christian was extremely proud to report the news of her grandmother “Mother Peeler” retiring from the present-day Leader, Bishop AD Cunningham from being the general secretary of Springfield for over 55 years.
Christian was known for her infectious smile and the laughter she brought to every room. She had a unique style and an innate sense of fashion, always expressing herself with confidence and flair. Christian had a remarkable ability to listen and offer advice, providing comfort and wisdom to those who sought it.
Christian will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Christian was a “Pearl’s Girl.” She never missed a facetime call, or a family function or a group Pearl’s Girl picture.
Christian’s loving memory will be cherished by her mother, Brenda May; her father, Christopher Donaldson (Anita); her three beloved children, Kayla, Jayln, and Bentley; her grandmother, Gloria Peeler; siblings, Christopher, Devin, Courtney, and Nyanda; her godmothers, Valencia Sanders and the late St. Beverly “Scootie” Turner; 2 godfathers, Uncle Stevie & Uncle Teddy & Uncle Bird and Aunt Maureen and Aunt Reylene, Aunt Dorrene and Uncle Greg and Grandma Grace who preceded her, best friend Tiffany Brown; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Christian’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to be touched by her presence. She may have been taken from us too soon, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our memories forever.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday August 21, 2024, at the United House of Prayer, 331 Wilbraham Road, Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.
