Clara Mae Lovejoy

  Clara Mae (Davis) Lovejoy, 82, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Heritage Hall West Nursing Home in Agawam, Massachusetts. 

  Born in Montgomery, Alabama, she was the second youngest and last surviving of fifteen children of Annanais Davis and Hattie (McClendon) Davis.  A 36-year resident of Springfield, she was a member of Greater Love Church Of God In Christ, where she served as bookkeeper.  Clara enjoyed playing bingo. 

  Pre-deceased by her parents and two daughters, Linda Lovejoy and Janet Lovejoy, she is survived by two sons, George Lovejoy Jr. and Tony Lovejoy, both of Springfield;  a daughter, Joyce Walker of Lithonia, Georgia;  her former husband, George Lovejoy Sr.;  twenty grandchildren;  twenty-four great-grandchildren;  six great-great-grandchildren;  and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, December 20 at New Jerusalem Church Of God In Christ, 209 Quincy Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at noon, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
