Commie T. Starks, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law.
She was born on February 9, 1926, in Union Springs, AL, to the late Clifford Webster and Effie Mae (Brown) Webster. She was educated in schools in Union Springs.
Commie was a faithful and committed member of New Life Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess. She was the Mother of the church. She was a member of the Missionary Board and she was also a member of the Pastor’s Aide.
Commie was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Reverend Al J. Starks in 2002, her parents, Clifford and Effie (Brown) Webster, one brother, Clinton Webster, 5 sisters: Laura Bell Willis, Jessie B. Williams, Cliffie Pruitt, Mildred Kendrick, and Ollie Mae Webster.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Alberta Hunter (James) and Beatrice Rutherford (Otis), both of Springfield, MA; 2 sons, Al J. Starks Jr. (Doris) of Fort Worth, TX and Willie Starks (Karla) of Teaneck, NJ; one brother, Elder John Webster (Oralee) of Sacramento, CA; and a special sister-in-law, Reverend Georgia B. Webster of Springfield, M; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones to cherish her memory.
