Cynthia Burston

  Cynthia Nell Burston, 69, of Rogers Avenue, West Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at her home.  Born in Lawndale, North Carolina, she was a daughter of Tom Burston and Ruby Nell (Williams) Burston.  A two-year resident of the area, Cynthia previously lived in Hartford, Connecticut, and New York City.  She enjoyed sewing, listening to music, dancing, gardening, cooking, writing, and traveling.

  Pre-deceased by her mother, Ruby Burston, and a brother, Odis Burston, Cynthia is survived by her father, Tom Burston of Tacoma, Washington;  two sons, Hakeem Duke and Nasear Wise, both of Springfield, Massachusetts;  three daughters, Kamika Duke of Riverdale, Georgia, Adia Duke of Springfield, and Malika Duke of Heron Bay, Georgia;  a cousin, Zandra Elder of Hartford, Connecticut;  three grandsons, Tyrone Markham, Joshua Byrd, and Tieke Smith;  and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The calling hour is noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m.
