DL Maston Obituary

DL “Dylon” Levi Valentine Maston
October 15, 1994 – June 24, 2025

DL “Dylon” Levi Valentine Maston, 30, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 24, 2025.  Born on October 15, 1994, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dylon was a vibrant and deeply loved son, brother, nephew, godson, cousin, and friend.

He was raised by his mother, Yvonne Campbell, who nurtured and guided him through life with unwavering love.  He was also the beloved son of Dale Maston and Edith Valentine, and stepson of Lee Hughey.  Dylon was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Charles T. Sr. and Lois J. (Lindsey) Shaddock; his paternal grandfather, Lonnie Maston; and his paternal uncle, Darryll Maston.

Dylon is survived by his devoted mother, Yvonne Campbell; his father, Dale Maston; and his paternal grandmother, Barbara Jean Culbreath.  He leaves behind his siblings: Dayna Campbell, Kandis Hill, Anita Valentine, Thomas Valentine, Thell Valentine, and stepbrother Albert Jackson, as well as his cherished nieces, Eva Campbell and Precious Valentine.

He was lovingly guided by his godmothers, Aunts Wynne Andrews and Rebecca Shaddock, and his godfather, Alan Shaddock.

Dylon was deeply connected to a wide circle of family. He is survived by his paternal aunt, Lynnette Culbreath, and cousin, Aqueela Culbreath-Britt.  On his maternal side, he is survived by Aunt Wynne Andrews and uncles Charles T. Jr. (Coral), Alan, Russell, and Andrew Shaddock, and Jerry Andrews.  His maternal first cousins include Kiesha Richards, Lindsey Taylor, and Adrian Andrews.  He was especially close with cousins Michelle Shaddock and Monique Shaddock, as well as his Aunt Janine Shepard, who all held a very special place in his heart.  He is also survived by many more beloved family members and friends who loved him dearly and were deeply loved by him in return.

A lifelong resident of Springfield, Dylon was proud of the city that shaped him.  He graduated from Renaissance High School and attended some college before finding his passion in sales.  He worked as a sales associate at Kohl’s and Home Depot, where his energy and friendliness left lasting impressions on co-workers and customers alike.

Family was everything to Dylon, and he embraced every chance to gather with those he loved.  He was energetic, a little dramatic (in the most entertaining way), and all heart.  Kind-hearted, outgoing, and always smiling, he had a gift for friendship and made connections wherever he went.

Dylon was our resident Zombie slayer!  In high school, he started a club called Humans vs. Zombies (HVZ), which quickly became a hit.  Students loved it then, and it’s still talked about today. His love for strategy and play extended to paintball, where he played competitively on a team called Anthrax.  Dylon was also an avid gamer, a self-taught in-house DJ, and a grill master in the making.  He found joy in camping, traveling, and any adventure that brought people together.  He lived life with enthusiasm, creativity, and a sense of fun that was absolutely infectious.

We will miss his radiant smile, his laughter that filled the room, and his presence that made every space warmer.  We loved him with our full hearts and souls — and we always will.
