Daniel R. Davis

  Daniel “Dan” Robert Davis, 58, was born on August 31, 1964, in Springfield, Massachusetts.  He began his walk with the angels on Thursday, April 20, 2023.  Daniel was the son of the late James Robert Davis, Jr. and the late Evangeline Ann (Williams) Davis. 

  He was an Information Technology Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Office of Health and Human Services in Quincy, Massachusetts.  Daniel graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA, in Building Technology.  He was an accomplished athlete in high school and earned the Western Mass shot put record.  He continued his love of sporting activities through his adult life with golf, tennis, fishing, and football.

  His daughter Brianna was born in 1994 and became the beacon in his life.  They shared many happy memories including attending Red Sox games, visiting Cape Cod beaches, bonding through various travels up and down the East coast, and the love of grilling, even throughout the harsh Boston winters.  With the various long nights of competitive monopoly board games and many walks through amusement parks and movie theaters, Dan strove to make each moment individually special just as any beloved father would do.

  Over the years as a loyal son, loving brother, and devoted father, Dan always valued to put his family first.  To those that knew him best, whether family or friend, the man always carried himself as one who lived a “selfless” life by helping others in whatever way possible.  Daniel will be fondly remembered by his cheerful manner and the ability to always generate laughter when communicating with his family and friends.

  He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Brianna Nicole Davis of Harrisburg, PA, currently serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force in Italy;  a brother, Mark R. Davis (and wife, Dorothy Ann) of Boston, MA;  an uncle, Maceyo Vaugh (and wife, Joanne) of Atlanta, GA;  a nephew, Jeremy Robert Davis of Boston, MA;  an aunt, Ann Woodrum of Middleboro, MA;  his beloved cat, Max;  and a host of other relatives and loving friends to cherish his memory.  Lastly, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon L. Davis.

The family would like to send a special acknowledgement to Daniel's lifelong connections, James Grandberry, Eric “Rick” DeBarros, Anthony “Tony” Range, Kevin Chamberlain, Christine Rose, and Donna Castleberry, for all your love and support over the years.
