David L. Johnson

  David L. Johnson, 65, of Springfield, MA, departed this life at home on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

  Born in Springfield, he was a son of Melvin and Sarah (Pittard) Johnson.  David graduated from Springfield Schools and was employed as a groundskeeper at Western New England University.  He was a lifelong avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Knicks fan.  His favorite musicians have always been James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, and the Isley Brothers.

  Pre-deceased by his parents, David is survived by his brother, Gary Johnson of Springfield;  a niece, Alison of Georgia;  and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home.
