Derrick B. Stenson

  Derrick Bernard Stenson, 47, of Worthington Street, Springfield, Massachusetts., departed this life on Sunday, July 3, 2022.  Born in Springfield on July 31, 1974, he was a son of Ricky Wallace and Marilyn Stenson. 

  Derrick worked in Alaska for most of his adult years as an environmental specialist.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.  He is survived by three sons, Da’shaun Stenson, Derrick Stenson Jr., and Jahova Santos, all of Springfield;  a daughter, Danasia Stenson of Springfield;  four brothers, Ricky Wallace Jr. and Isaiah Wallace, both of Springfield and Curtis Walton and Donald Garner, both of Anchorage, Alaska;  three sisters, Yvonne Wallace of Springfield and Tekia Stenson and Alfa Richardson, both of Columbia, South Carolina;  two grandsons, Damon Patterson and Zahir Stenson;  and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 33, Oak Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
