Dottie L. Malloy

  Dotty Louise Malloy 1935 - 2023 Springfield Dotty Louise Malloy passed away on Janaury 19, 2023 from cancer. She was born on September 30, 1935 to the late Rude Criddle and Louvonia Evans. She was raised in the town of Union Point, GA and moved to Springfield, MA in the mid 1950's. She worked in housekeeping at multiple locations in Springfield and Longmeadow. More recently she worked with the Foster Grand Parents program of the Springfield Urban League as a children's day care helper at Little Rascals Day Care in Springfield where she was known as Grandma Dotty. Dotty or as she was more affectionately referred to by those closest to her, Louise or Lou, had a bit of a green thumb and loved growing plants. Many of her family, friends and acquaintances would say that she was tough, kind and sweet, all wrapped up in the same person.

  Predeceased by her husband Samuel Malloy, her sister Daisy M. Banks (Evans) of Union Point, GA and her brother Lorenzo Evans of Philadelphia, PA. Survived by her children Jeffrey Malloy of Holyoke, MA, Rodney Malloy, Emanuel Malloy of Springfield, MA, Sivia Malloy of Winthrop, MA, her siblings Ruby Lee Heard of Cincinnati, OH, James E. Evans of Philadelphia, PA, Mable R. Williams (Evans) of Augusta, GA, and Rubye N. Evans of Philadelphia, PA. Also survived by her stepchildren, Polly Covington of Laurinburg, NC, Claudius Cole of Springfield, MA and her grandchildren.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:30 at the funeral home. Dotty L. Malloy will be buried at a later date in Union Point, GA on the family plot.
