Douglas E. Jackson Sr.

Douglas Edward Jackson Sr., 59., of Chestnut St., Springfield, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Douglas was a son of Joe Jackson and Aminta (Reid) Hairston. A 52-year Springfield resident, he had been employed as a systems administrator for Job Corps. Pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers, he is survived by his children, Douglas Jackson Jr., and Lakeia Jackson, both of Indian Orchard and Roshawnda Jackson of CT; a step-son, Torry Pullen of Springfield; four brothers, Joe Jackson of VA, and Ellis Jackson, David Hairston, and Keith Hairston all of Springfield; two sisters, Adrian Wheeler of VA and Debra McRae of Granby, CT; and four grandchildren. The public walk-thru wake is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be private.
