Duane Miller Sr.

  Duane M. Miller Sr., 49, of Springfield Massachusetts, departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. 

  He was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to Gwendolyn E. Miller and John Dodson Jr.  Duane had many talents and sources of enjoyment, including playing basketball, rapping, writing poetry, and drawing.  Mostly he loved spending time with family.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Gwendolyn Miller of Stoughton, Massachusetts;  three children, Duane Miller Jr. of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Jacqueline Jackson of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Dwayne Johnson of Springfield, Massachusetts;  three grandchildren, Zyair Jackson, Majesty Miller, and Zarayah Jackson;  a brother, Jamaia Smith;  two sisters, Darlene Pearson of Stoughton, Massachusetts and Jolene Miller of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania;  an aunt, Ula Dodson;  an uncle, David Dodson;  a host of cousins and other relatives;  and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Dodson Jr.;  his grandparents, Lucille and John Lee Miller Sr. and Dora Bell and John Dodson Sr.;  and an uncle, John Lee Miller Jr. 

The visitation is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Community Church, 304 Elm St. Holyoke, Massachusetts, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
