Dupree Wilder, 75, of Wendell Place, Springfield, MA, passed away at home on Tuesday March 25, 2025.
Dupree was born in Quincy, FL, a son of James and Marie (Britt) Wilder. Dupree was a fifty-year Springfield resident and worked for the City of Springfield Water Department for 26 years. Prior to that he worked for the former Municipal Hospital for a number of years. He was a U.S. Vietnam War Army Veteran and a proud member of United Temple Church of God In Christ. For 19 years, he volunteered with the American Red Cross and also with the Veterans Administration.
He will be forever cherished by his wife, Novella Y. (Moyston) Wilder; his son, Josh J. Williams; a brother, Odell Wilder; sisters, Lillie Menton-Hill (and husband Ranzy) and Betty Wilder; several grandchildren, including Dayshawn, Dayveon, Jamari, three great-grandchildren. Dupree was pre-deceased by a daughter, Tara Williams in 2024, siblings, Levi Wilder, Jerome Wilder, Margaret Jackson, Virginia Holley, Pinkie Morris, Patricia Hughes, and Drucilla Brady.
Services will be held on Friday, April 4, at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C., 57 Bay St. The calling hour begins at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at noon with burial in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
