Edward Caldwell Obituary

 Staff Sargeant Edward Lee Caldwell, USA, Retired, a proud 32-year veteran of the United States Army National Guard, Company A 1 st Battalion 104 th Infantry, Agawam Massachusetts, and the United States Navy Reserve, left these mortal bounds for peace eternal on Thursday, December 23, 2021. A loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many, Edward (Eddie) was born on February 18, 1946, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Fay Ruth (Brown) Caldwell and the late Wallace Caldwell, Sr., Eddie was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Massachusetts.

 At the age of 27, Edward enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and later into the United States Navy Reserve. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Staff Sargeant (E6). Having served faithfully and honorably, as part of this service, Edward was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Mass Humanitarian Service Ribbon, Mass Service Medal Silver Star, and Mass Emergency Service Ribbon.

 One of 12 siblings, Eddie shall forever remain in the hearts of his sisters, Earlean Caldwell, Betty Mayweathers, Elizabeth Carter, Viola McCoy, and Waunetta Caldwell all of Springfield, Massachusetts, and his brothers, Wallace Caldwell Jr. of Florida, Charles Caldwell Sr., and Thomas Caldwell Sr., both of Springfield, Massachusetts.

 Eddie is survived by two Godchildren, Phillip Caldwell, and Van Williams, 27 nieces including Theresa Mitchell, Billie-Jo Warrick, and Kenya Adorno all of Springfield, Massachusetts, 25 nephews: 127 great nieces and nephews, a host of great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and fishing partners Victor Carter Sr (brother-in-law), and Miguel Adorno (nephew-in-law).

 Eddie will be greeted at the Gates of Heaven by his parents Fay and Wallace Caldwell Sr., his great-aunt Lugussie Dean, his brothers Arthur F. Caldwell Sr., James Lee Caldwell, Theodis Caldwell and Michael Benefield, his sister Ruby Jean Caldwell, and his nephew Edward Rodney Caldwell Sr., each having been called home to their Father’s mansion before him.
