Edward Gladden Jr.

  Edward Gladden Jr., 65, of Chapel Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born in Springfield, a son of Edward F. Gladden Sr. and Pinkie Lou (Johnson) Gladden.  A lifelong resident of the city, he attended Springfield schools and worked as a carpenter.  He was a member of Shiloh Community Pentecostal Church.

  Edward is survived by a son, Edward Gladden III of Springfield;  two brothers, Felix Carter of California and Robert Gladden of Springfield;  four sisters, Mary Smith, Pinkie Gladden, Margaret Vanderburg, and Sylvia Gladden, all of Springfield;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2003 at Harrell Funeral Home.
