Essie Mae (Cisero) Wilder, 78, of Grant Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Born in Shellman, Georgia, she was a daughter of Charlie Cisero and Marie (Hines) Ciscero. Essie was a fifty-nine year resident of Springfield, where she was employed as a homecare worker. She was the First Lady of Community Church Of God In Christ and had been a member of United Temple Church Of God In Christ. Essie served as an Evangelist and the District Missionary of Bay District. She was an accomplished singer, loved sports (an extreme LA Lakers fan), and also a mentor, confidant, and prayer intercessor for many people.
Pre-deceased by her parents, a son, Stephan Henderson, two brothers, Willie Edgar Cisero and Charlie Lee Cisero, and three sisters, Ella Ree Daniels, Elizabeth North, and Sal Ciscero, she is survived by her husband, Reverend Odell Wilder; four sons, Anthony Henderson, Timothy Henderson, Marvis Wilder (and wife, Thona), and Travis Wilder (and wife, Rebecca); a daughter, Sylvia Henderson; a brother, Charlie Will Cisero; two sisters, Lurenia Milner and Lee Ethel Boone; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ, 209 Quincy Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
