Eunice Polite Obituary

Mother Eunice Polite’s life began on October 21, 1951 in Garnett, South Carolina and her new life started on January 6, 2023. She was raised in Springfield, MA, the tenth out of 12 children, by her parents, the late Marion Polite Sr. and Lillie Mae (Stevenson) Polite. Eunice graduated from Commerce High School and attended Bay Path University. She worked for over 25 years for Hamilton Standard now known as Raytheon Technologies.

To know Eunice was to love her. She loved fiercely, selflessly, and generously to a fault. Her quick wit and keen mind often had everyone joining in with her infectious laugh. She loved to smell good, dress well, and not to mention eat food. She was a food connoisseur and fantastic cook. Trying new restaurants or cuisines was a favorite pastime. Undeniably, the favorite “candy lady” for many that knew and adored her...church mints, chocolate bars, hard candies, fruit snacks, chewy or fruity, you name it, she had it. Eunice sweetened the life of all who knew her.

Mother Polite loved church! She was a dedicated, and faithful member of God’s Way Ministries. Eunice shared her musical gifts and talents with the church over the years. She was a directress at New Hope Church, member of Holy Trinity’s Morgan Ensemble, and the infamous “plus one” of the group Men Plus One. Mother Polite was also the directress and member of God’s Direction of Sound.

Her generosity extended into many areas, including her prayer life, as a known prayer warrior and intercessor. To confide and ask for prayer for a situation, issue, or breakthrough was a trusted request. Mother Polite had a huge heart for children… and they all knew it. Tailor-made nurturing (spoiling) for each child in her care was her specialty. Her observational skills were CIA level – if she noticed someone in need - she found a way to help. Suitably called to serve on the Mothers’ Board because she was a mother to all.

Service will be held Saturday at God's Way ministries in Chicopee, 156 Springfield St.  The calling hour is 8 a.m. with funeral service at 9 a.m.  burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
