Evelyn (Martin) Narcisse, 77, of 1475 Roosevelt Ave., began her eternal rest on April 29, 2020. Born in Petersburg, TN, she was the daughter of James Martin and Margaret (Tally) Martin. Evelyn was a resident of Springfield for 54 years. She worshipped at New Beginning Church Of God In Christ in Chicopee, MA, where she was the Church Mother for 25 years under the leadership of Superintendent Pastor Sammy Burton. Previously she served at Spring of Hope C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Talbert Swan I. She had been employed at Pine Manor Nursing Home for many years and had also been a Foster Grandparent at HSC Headstart. Pre-deceased by parents, her husband, Leonard Narcisse in 2007, two brothers, four sisters, and a grandson, Tyrell Narcisse, she leaves to celebrate her homegoing, two daughters, Cleo Brown-Martin (Jessie) and Evelyn Pullen, both of Springfield; two sons, George L. Narcisse of Ware, MA and James L. Narcisse (Sandra) of Worcester, MA; a sister, Julia E. Porter of Petersburg; four extended children, Alice, Robbie Mae (deceased), Dimple, and Juanita Thompson; 31 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.
