Everett “Tony” Pershing Vaughn Jr., 69, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Friday, June 28, 2024, at his home.
Born in Seattle, Washington, he was the third of eight children of Everett Vaughn Sr. and Lorraine (Taylor) Vaughn. A sixty-year resident of Springfield, Mr. Vaughn worked in building construction and was a member of Laborer’s Local #999. He was a member of Alden Baptist Church, where he served as an Usher, and sang in the Men’s Choir. Known for his humor, he enjoyed his family, traveling, auto detailing, and coin collecting.
Pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers, Mark David Vaughn, Donald Ray Vaughn and Kenneth Lancaster Glaze. “Tony” is survived by two daughters, Lanevea (and Robert) Henderson of Ft. Mill, South Carolina and Sade Telfaire of Springfield; two brothers, DeWayne Vaughn of Boston, Massachusetts and Michael Vaughn (and Maria) of Springfield; three sisters, JoAnn Ingram of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Connie Deloris Dodds and Joyce Marie Vaughn, both of Springfield; a step-brother, Tyrone Quattlebaum, two grandchildren, Imani Henderson and Iyana Henderson, both of Ft. Mill, SC; his former wife, Vickie Telfair; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 12, at Alden Baptist Church, 649 State Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at noon, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
