Felton Price passed away on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was born on July 24, 1942, in Oakridge, Louisiana, the son of Jimmy Williams and Clara Lee (Price) Miller. He was blessed to have been one of twenty children. As an adult, Felton relocated to the Springfield area where he lived for more than 50 years and worshipped at Macedonia Church of God In Christ.
Felton was a skilled sheet metal worker and had honed his craft at Industrial Etching and later at Hamilton Standard, where he worked as Foreman until retirement. He was the first unofficial Uber-style driver; gladly driving individuals wherever they needed to go, all the while engaging them in stimulating conversation. He enjoyed sport fishing, both freshwater and saltwater fish, playing and watching basketball, and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. Felton was a father first and was also a loving and caring person who was compassionate to many and would help all that he could.
Pre-deceased by his parents, his second mother, Pauline Williams, and his siblings, James Williams, Jimmie Lee Harris, Mary Williams, Katie Moore, Doris Price, Boris Price, Donald Price, Hilton Moore, Ronald Moore, and Leroy Williams, he is survived by eight children, Essie Grimes (and Hank), Sabrina Swift, Nadia Moore, Iris Jenkins (and Robert), Douglas Moore, Richard Moore, Felton Moore, and Jimmy Price; seven sisters, Clementine Thomas, Annie Miller, Althea Norrington (and Corey), Joyce Price, Gloria Miller, Lola Price, and Patricia Williams; three brothers, Gregory Price, Johnny Phillips, and Thomas Williams; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and a special friend Barbara Woods.
Visitation will be 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by the funeral at 11:30 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
