Fred Levalle Jr.

  Fred D. Levalle Jr., aged 82, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away on January 15, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Fred was born on September 21, 1941, in Sylvania, Georgia, to Fred D. Levalle Sr. and Annie Bell (Culver) Levalle.  As a young teen, Fred sought solace in his maternal grandparents' care.  It was in the heart of Georgia that he found his footing, graduating high school before embarking on a journey back to New York as an adult.  He eventually settled in Springfield. 

  Pre-deceased by his parents, and sister, Zerlene Levalle Owens, Fred leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by his three nieces, Jennifer Harris, Celeste Johnson, and Supena James, whom he treated as his own;  his dear friend, Barbara Spruell;  as well as his first cousins who were more like siblings, having grown up together.  In addition to his immediate family, he is remembered fondly by a vast network of loving relatives and friends who will cherish his memory. 

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11.
