Gary Michael Stovall, also known as “Butter”, 51, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2023, at his home. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and was a lifelong resident. Gary graduated from Putnam High School. Many people would see him often when he worked at Bradley International Airport for Huntleigh Corporation. For the last 12 years, he was employed at McNairn Packaging in Westfield. Gary was a very quiet person who kept to himself but when you did engage him in conversation, he was funny and liked to joke and laugh. His family was important to him. His hobby was collecting remote control cars. He enjoyed watching cars race at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT. Music also brought him great pleasure as he used to DJ events for some years.
He is survived by his daughter, Tatiana Stovall and two grandsons, Jayceon Stovall and Riley Swinton, all of Springfield. He is the youngest son of parents, Henry M. Stovall Sr. and Deklana Stovall, both of Springfield. He is predeceased by his oldest brother, Henry “Butch” Stovall Jr. He leaves behind his parents; two brothers, Nathan Stovall of Florida and David Stovall of West Virginia; two sisters, Lisa Stovall and Sherri Whitsett, both of Springfield; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Harrell Funeral Home.
