Gertrude Marie Pike, 91, of Broad Street, Westfield, MA, departed this life on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Born in Springfield, she was the oldest of four children of Ernest Wiedenroth and Mildred (Harper) Wiedenroth.
Trudy was a gifted artist and creator of custom doll garments and previously owned Truly Sumptuous Doll Fashions. She enjoyed interior decorating and numerous crafts. From 1963 to 1990, she was the First Lady of Horace A. Moses Scout Reservation, where her late husband, Eugene H. Pike Jr. served as Camp Ranger. Together, they entertained thousands of children at Christmas time as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at the Natick Mall. In addition, she had been active as a Cub Scout Leader, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Poll Worker. She previously resided in South Hadley Falls, MA, Holyoke, MA, Russell, MA, and Wilbraham, MA.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene H. Pike III of Orange, MA, Dennis M. (and wife, Deborah) Pike of Southampton, MA, and Russell A. (and wife, Donna) Pike of Southwick, MA; two daughters, Melonie (and husband, Thomas) Boyer of Freeport, FL and Heather (and husband, Bob) Breau of Southwick, MA; a brother-in-law, David Untied of Peoria, AZ; a sister-in-law, Cossette Wiedenroth; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 568 College Highway, Southwick, MA, followed by interment at 11:30 a.m. at Russell Pond Cemetery on Birch Hill Road in Woronoco Heights, MA (Moses Scout Reservation).
