Ida Lois (Williamson) Ruffin, 82, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Monday, January 16, 2023. Born in Ellaville, Georgia, she was the last surviving of fifteen children of the late Albertus Williamson and the late Ida B. (Wilson) Williamson. Ida was a 62-year resident of Springfield and had been employed in Environmental Services by Baystate Medical Center. She was a member of Bethesda Church and enjoyed cooking, baking, reading her bible, praying, crocheting, watching movies, eating out, and working.
Pre-deceased by her siblings, Pauline Stewart (sister), Annie Williamson (sister), Mary A. Pina (sister), John L. Williamson (brother), Henry Williamson (brother), Eddie M. Williamson (brother), Geraldine Jones (sister), Lee Alton Wilson (brother), James R. Williamson (brother), John Lee Williamson (brother), Katie Holmes (sister), Russell Williamson (brother), Grace Coleman (sister), Margaret Russell (sister), and Lillie Bell Risby (sister), she is survived by a son, John Ruffin Jr. of Springfield; two daughters, Arvie Ann Byse of Montezuma, GA and Melissa Ruffin of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, Cheona Hale, Ricardo Springer, Ida Springer, Sheena Springer, Martin Haynes, Wesley Haynes, Joneé Ruffin, Thaddeus Ruffin, Tavon Williamson, Alexis Williamson, and Daquan Burgos; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
