Inez Carol (née Parker) Green, 79, departed this life on Friday, December 17, 2021 at her home with two of her four children by her side. Inez was the daughter of the late Felix and Estelle (Watson) Parker. She was born and raised in Springfield, where she attended public school.
Inez graduated from Commerce High School and subsequently earned a licensed practical nurse (LPN) certificate. Later, while working full-time and raising a family, she returned to college full-time to earn an Associate’s in Nursing (RN) degree from Holyoke Community College.
Inez found nursing rewarding in providing care and compassion to those in need. It was her true mission in life. She worked for more than 40 years at Mercy Medical Center, loving and serving many patients. She retired in 2007 to spend more time with her precious grandchildren. She also served in the visitation, greeters, and nursing ministries at St. John’s Congregational Church.
Inez leaves her children Ronald Randolph, Darryl Randolph, Shelly Randolph and Yvette Johnson (Benjamin, Sr.) to cherish her memories. She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and eight siblings: Llewellyn Parker (Pat), Velma Rutherford, Estelle Early, Alvin Parker, Norris Parker (Marie), Charles Parker (Pam), Harold Parker and Kathy Parker, along with a host of extended nephews, nieces and friends.
The family sends a heartfelt thank you to caregivers Erin Saunders and Naderma Campbell of Hospice Home Health Care for their tender care of our mother in her final days. May God continue to bless you.
The funeral will take place at 11 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Christian Cathedral, 205 Eastern Avenue in Springfield. The interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
