Isiah Crapps, 81, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Born in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of Eddie Crapps and Amy Lee (Williams) Crapps. Isiah was a 61 year resident of Springfield and was a former Plant Manager of Columbia Bike Company in Westfield. He was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he was a former Treasurer, Usher, and member of the Male Chorus. A 33rd degree Mason, he was a member of King David Lodge #15 in Springfield and Most Worshipful Hiram Grand Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Boston MA. He was also a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees and Steve Harvey’s Family Feud. Isiah loved to cook on the grill and fry fish every Friday. He also loved to drive, and, thought nothing about driving up and down the east coast.
Pre-deceased by five brothers, Ulysses Crapps, Elijah Crapps, Lloyd Crapps, Bobbie Crapps, and Charles Crapps, a sister, Beatrice Banks, and a grandson, Courtney, Isiah is survived by his longtime companion, and significant other of over 28 years, Betty Watkins; a son, Isiah Crapps (Teresa); a daughter, Audrey (Hayes) McIver; a brother, Willie Frank Crapps (Elizabeth); two sisters, Edie Whetstone and Mary Wilson (Tony); six grandchildren, Keyona, Trinity, Isiah, Sophia, Shynel, and Amir; three bonus grandchildren, Justina, Donald, and Nicola; three great-grandchildren, Jameer, Dezron, and AuMariyon; three bonus great-grandchildren, Kamari, Leroy, and Madisyn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 33 Oak Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
