James Malachi Eaddy, 89, of Elmore Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life at his home on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Born in Florence, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Horace Eaddy and the late Mary (Timmons) Eady. Mr. Eady was a veteran of the United States Army and had been employed at the Marsh Plywood Mill in South Carolina. After moving to Springfield in 1970, he worked as a machine operator at UniRoyal Tire and Rubber Company in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He enjoyed drawing, crossword puzzles, bible study, listening to R & B, and playing guitar.
Pre-deceased by his wife, Delphine (Campbell) Eaddy, he is survived by five children, Gloria James of Wilmington, North Carolina, Melvine James Eaddy (and wife, Chavette) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Marilyn Eaddy of Matthews, North Carolina, and Avery Mock and Alexr Mock, both of Springfield; two sisters, Irene Eaddy of Springfield and Lilly Eady of White Plains, New York; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
